= 1. Start meeting = === 1a. Pick a chairman and a minutes man === Meeting chaired by Hyronymus, who will also make the minutes. Because of the low turn up the meeting rules won't be proscribed this time. Present: Hyronymus (ch+mm), DominionSpy, Mek (first 10 minutes). Grunt, Purno and Uzurpator joined later, the latter stayed for 10 minutes only. === 1b. Discuss minutes of previous meeting === Noone had any comments on the minutes of the previous meeting. = 2. Discuss the previous objectives = === 2a. Website - Implement News, Community, Development and Resources (includes DD) sections === Because literally noone submitted anything to the topic for upload it is decided to prolong this objective, at least until the next meeting. If people want to submit new content they should use Steve's template.php, to be found on the forums. === 2b. Website - Wiki trouble === Pjaytycy hasn't run other tests with Deplate to convert Wiki content to HTML (php). DominionSpy is explained the reason for some Wiki content to be converted to our new website. This objective will also be prolonged. === 2c. Design Document - Commenting Part 2 === DominionSpy has 2 comments for Uzurpator: >> paragraph 4.1: Should we have invisible goods? Needs visual feedback for loading, even if it is hidden for the journey. They should be visible at stations and during loading alone. >> paragraph 5.8: DominionSpy doesn't really like advertising campaigns as they don't really add to his gaming experience. This gameplay option shall be regarded as a selectable option though, so each player can choose whatever (s)he likes. Other comments have been posted in the commenting topic on the forums and Uzurpator alreadt dealt with them. Steve and Hyronymus now only need to arrange a meeting with Uzurpator to discuss other DD issues. === 2d. Coding - Evaluate and accept the coding standard === DominionSpy suggests that interfaces should have a prefixed I and classes a prefixed C, to avoid confusion between class names and method names. m and g prefixes should be followed by an underscore to help clarify things. Uzurpator notes that the acceptance of the coding style should be left to the code team. === 2e. Coding - Select leader (might turn into a vote) === Hyronymus received 3 votes in total: 1 abstain and 2 for Uzurpator as leader. Grunt votes for Uzurpator or DominionSpy during the meeting. The result is that Uzurpator is elected as leader of the code team, a role he accepts. = 3. New Project Objectives = [17:00:30] <@Hyronymus> the toughest part === 3a. Coding - Design Document - Commenting Part 3 === For the next meeting, chapters 7-10 will be up for commenting by code team members/other developers. A topic will be created after the meeting. === 3b. Various - finish unfinished, previous objectives (to be determined at meeting) === Hyronymus indicates that since he and Steve started with setting objectives not all set objectives have been finished. Instead of adding more objectives to the 'pile' it may be wiser to first finish the unfinished objectives though. Hyronymus also says that he (and Steve) are somewhat disappointed about the mismatch between intentions and acions. During meetings almost all objectives are accepted without a change. After the meetings hardly any objective is realised as agreed upon though. If other developers would give more feedback about their progress or they limitations that would greatly increase the control over the objectives for Hyronymus and Steve. With this 'new attitude' towards objectives we should start finishing all unfinished objectives (check the forums for [OBJ] ... (unfinished) topics). === 3c. Coding - Launch 'Core Engine Developers'-team. As I understood, Uzurpator wants to launch a team of coders to start working on the core engine. He would like to have a seperate forum section for his coding team where they can work undisturbed by non-coders. This suggested is discussed in more detail under = 4. Any other business = by Purno's request. = 4. Any other business = Purno objects to coders having a seperate forum where only coders can post while other developers can see it. Hyronymus mentions that the same principle was accepted for holding meetings for coders/artists/management, apart from other developers. Steve and Hyronymus do this regularly without receiving complaints. Purno wouldn't mind a seperate coders forum if non-coders won't be able to see the forum. Owen (lurking) says that is a possibility and arranges the forum section right away. Hyronymus informs DominionSpy about the Wiki-site, the use of TinFoil and the Meeting Rules. = 5. Next meeting = Preliminary date + time of the next meeting: Fri 07-10-2005 @ 1430 GMT = 6. End of Meeting =
