--- Opening --- People present: Arathorn[GFX], chirho, Hellfire667, oliv3r --- Minutes --- * According to Hellfire, the minutes were too bloated, although a good representation of the actual meeting --- FRD progress --- * The CVS document has been imported into the wiki * The idea count is at 42, which is 16% of the ideas. * There was an incompatibility issue with ideas 39 and 40: - There was spoken of two ways of treating carriages: the TTD style and the RRT style. During the meeting was chosen to take the TTD approach, which means that carriages are not "teleported" to other stations, but we will allow for storing carriages at stations. - The followin real-life example was given, which might be useful in the future 19:29 <@chirho> To try and frame this, IRL a coal train depositing coal at a power station that doesn't do MGR pulls a loaded coal train into the yard, and hooks up with the empty carriages to fill them 19:29 <@chirho> the full wagons are emptied at the power station, and then left out for the next train to collect them 19:30 <@chirho> though to do this would mean either a virtual carriage store at every station, or performing complex shunting procedures * eXinion has done ideas 11-30 and Hellfire has done ideas 31-44 * The traceability matrix will be extended with two columns: the person who transferred the idea and whether or not the idea was a duplicate of another idea * The following starting positions have been assigned to the following people: - Hellfire: 44 and 101 - Metalcore: 51 - Chirho: 61 - Arathorn: 141 - eXinion: 181 - Oliv3r: 221 Each mentioned person will start with the idea behind his name. When he hits the starting point of another person, he will be assigned another starting position. It's very important to give feedback on your progress, so we can all know how much is done and how much still has to be done. --- Prototypes --- * Hellfire was going to make some prototypes, but didn't have enough time to make them. * Hellfire suggested that the graphics team might make some concepts of possible user interfaces. The programmers team then could make some prototypes which bring the concepts to life. Arathorn agreed on this item and will try as soon as he can. --- Research --- * Chirho has found the following interesting features of Mediawiki: 20:10 <@chirho> The contents of one page can be included in another 20:11 <@chirho> There is currently a template message at Template:Wikipedia 20:11 <@chirho> which is included in a page by using {{wikipedia}} 20:11 <@chirho> Currently the Main Page is protected so only I can edit it 20:12 <@chirho> But, we can add sections to the main page using this mechanism, and ordinary users can edit the template page that is included 20:13 <@chirho> e.g. for a "Picture of the week" or something 20:14 <@chirho> ATM, I'm the only user with admin ability on the wiki, but given that the only things that admins can do that registered users can't is delete or lock pages (as well as edit some system messages), there's no real reason to give it to anyone else 20:15 <@chirho> We don't really have much to lose (if someone wipes a page, we have history :) so I don't see a point in insurance yet --- AOB --- * No other business --- Next meeting --- * Next meeting for "weekend of 25-26/09/2004", exact time to be decided later
