== 1. Start meeting == Active members during this meeting are: DaveWorley (came in late) DominionSpy Hyronymus m4rek (came in late) Purno Steve XeryusTC == 1a. Pick a chairman and a minutes man == Purno will be chairman. Purno will take minutes. At the end of the meeting Purno asked if anyone else would be the minutes man as he had been distracted earlier on. DominionSpy agreed to do this. == 1b. Discuss minutes of previous meeting == 3D formats: XeryusTC informs us that TRoS supports only 3ds at the moment and will report back later on which formats will be supported in the engine. == 2. News about the engine == XeryusTC informs us that exams for both Seniltai and himself has meant that there have been few updates to the engine since November 3rd. == 3. News about the GUI == DominionSpy suggested using a GUI style based on the TTD interface, but updated somewhat. Hyronymus noted that it is easier to start with a "template" - something that already exists - than from scratch. Hyronymus started a discussion about whether we want to use the interface system from TTD too (the icon bar, the menu system etc). It was agreed that the current system in TTD is not easily discoverable for new users and Hyronymus suggested moving the selection of track type into a track-laying dialogue box. It was then decided that the discussion would be moved to the forums. == 4. News about SVN == orudge has previously said that he will be setting up the SVN server this or next week. XeryusTC informs us that he is preparing TRoS to be included in the repository once set up. A discussion about the modularisation of TE within the SVN repository followed. XeryusTC mentioned that the way TRoS is modularised is possibly overkill for TE. It was then stated that we will probably have a separate client and server so these may need different modules. DominionSpy brought up the topic of tagging and whether to use tagging to track bug- or feature-related changes. This discussion will continue on the forums as was too big a subject to discuss in the meeting. == 5. Any other business == DominionSpy mentioned that we should decide on the first coding milestone for when the SVN is set up. XeryusTC suggested a technical demo, which would use the TRoS engine. This was agreed and a post will be made on the forums detailing the content of the milestone. m4rek asked a question regarding the building method in TE. DaveWorley suggested a building method where the player chooses the beginning and end points and the road or track gets build once permission has been received from the local authorities involved. == 6. Next meeting == Public meeting: 18th November, 1830 GMT
