Minutes of the 05-08-2005 TE meeting == 1. Start meeting == == 1a. Pick a chairman and a minutes man == Meeting opened by Steve who is elected chairman. Hyronymus will make minutes. == 1b. Discuss minutes of previous meeting == Pjaytycy says some unimportant parts of the meeting logs were missing from the minutes, there is no need to mention them afterall though. == 2. Progress on the Design Document == Because of the possibility that Uzurpator joins later this topic is postponed until the end of the meeting == 3. Progress of the Management Group == == 3a. Website + Wiki maintenance == Hyronymus uploaded Zuu and Pjaytycy's temporary PHP-scripted webpage to http://tt2.sourceforge.net/ and changed some colours (I said sorry, OK) == 3b. Available test-systems overview == Hyronymus sent Pjaytycy a PM and also found out that Pjaytycy did make an overview of available test-systems. Steve notes that the SDL-demos that are floating around need testing. == 4. Progress of the Code Group == == 4a. Setup development environments on our machines == Pjaytycy tested the SDl-demos and got some of them working. It seems that not all demos are compiled using the same configuration. == 4b. progress on the SDL demo == Noone has a clue what setup to use for making SDL demos. Probably Hellfire can help us, whenever he comes around. == 5. User Interface progress == The User Interface allows players to 'control' the options of TE (like laying track, building stations, landscaping etc). The main concern of the UI is to keep it usable but it also touches upon the style of the UI. After some discussion it's decided to make this an objective for the next meeting. == 6. Project Objectives == Steve and Hyronymus discussed how to get TE moving again and decided to introduce objectives. These obejctives are clear-cut goals that should be achieved between the meeting where they are introduced and the next meeting (unless specified differently). Objectives will be discussed during meetings first, after the meetingtopics will be created so everyone can assign him/herself to an objective. == 6a. Website - Create Template == The template by Zuu and Pjaytycy is uploaded (http://tt2.sourceforge.net/) but needs some tweaking. Pjaytycy already volunteers. == 6b. Website - Graphics == Hyronymus started a create-a-logo topic too soon but this topic is meant for those wo are interested to design a logo for TE. The logo and other graphics are not definite, they can change once we've got a working demo of the game. == 6c. Wiki - Re-organize == Because the Wiki is no longer for 'mortals' it needs an overhaul. A (temporary) seperate section to store minutes and logs might be one of the new requirements of the Wiki. == 6d. Coding - SDL Demos == This concerns the grouping and testing of all SDL demos. It would help if at least one member of the coding group would come to a meeting to help testing i.e.. == 6e. Design Document - Progress Report == Hyronymus PM-ed Uzurpator and Hellfire but it seems Hellfire never received that PM. Uzurpator however did and he believes Hellfire isn't doing anything about the DD. [Hellfire said he would post on the forums about this but he hasn't done so yet btw] Uzurpator offered to write the DD alone which Steve and Hyronymus don't see as a bad thing by default. The DD needs to be approved by other TE-developers before it will be accepted as our standard. == 6f. Empire Bot - Meeting Control == TinFoil is the bot for TE-meetings on irc://#transportempire@quakenet.org. Steve and Hyronymus know how to operate it. TinFoil might get more options in the future. == 6g. Management - Objectives == Steve and Hyronymus (aka The Tiranic Twins) intend to present new objectives for each meeting. If any of the other developers wants to suggest an objective please do so and correct us when we're being unfair, wrong or tiranic. == 7. Any other business (AOB) == Nothing else to discuss. As Uzurpator didn't show up we skipped Topic 2 (Progress on the Design Document) and wait for replies in the DD objectives-thread. == 8. Next meeting == Next meeting: 23-08-2005 @ 1400 GMT (that's a TUESDAY)
